Dr Julie Haddock-Millar is an Associate Professor of Human Resource Management at Middlesex University, UK; Visiting Professor at the International University of Monaco; EMCC International WorkGroup Leader for International Standards for Mentoring and Coaching Programmes (ISMCP). Julie has worked with private and public sector organisations to develop their mentoring and coaching programmes, including most recently The UK Cabinet Office and FDA, Financial and Legal Skills Partnership, MSF Norway (Doctors Without Borders) and The Access Project. Her teaching and research interests include mentoring, coaching and talent development. Julie is currently Principal Investigating Officer for the global evaluation of YBI’s youth entrepreneurship mentoring programme. She is co-editor of the SAGE Handbook in Mentoring Practice, published February 2017.


The aim of the session is to introduce participants to the ISMCP and help you understand more about this new accreditation for yourself, your clients and organisations you work with. The session will provide an overview of the accreditation route including:

1. What are the International Standards for Mentoring and Coaching Programmes?
2. Who is ISMCP for?
3. What are the core standards?
4. What is the approach to accreditation?
5. What is the accreditation process?
6. Current progress: organisations currently undertaking ISMCP and Assessor/Verifier training
