This session will be run in workshop style and will involve audience participation. It aims to explore the concept of paradox and raise awareness of the paradoxes at play in both the content of the coaching conversation as well as the coaching relationship itself. The facilitators will share some personal stories and examples of paradoxical challenges they face in their coaching including the ‘fixed’ ‘growth’ mindset paradox in elite performers. Delegates will then be introduced to ‘polarity mapping’ as a coaching tool and will experiment with the tool to transform their thinking.
